How To Fight Depression : Make It Spiritual Battle

Now a days almost every other person on this earth is depressed and stressed for some or the other reason. Some are able to cope up with depression and few are not. Due to different circumstance of life few even think of taking life, going for suicide, leaving home and so on. Hence people opt for therapy, medicine, healthy life style, place change, spirituality etc.

If the soul departs from the body with thoughts of anger, hatred, jealousy, worry and fear, or in a state of great mental turmoil, then such thoughts and agitation will be carried over and immediately experienced in that realm also. In fact, this state of mind will help determine which realm we go to next. That is why sages say that suicide does not solve anything whatsoever. On the contrary, it makes the condition of the soul much worse.
Plus, you also leave others, such as parents, children and friends, in so much pain to suffer your absence, losing you, wondering what went wrong. This is also your responsibility for which you are accountable.
Astrologically I talked a lot about remedy for Moon affliction, 8th house trouble and balancing the positive/negative vibes of life. But if you really have to come out of sheer depression then Spirituality is the only effective solution.

  • Depression is a call from within, that you need to alter by understanding your mental, emotional, psychological vibes. No therapy, no psychiatric drug can wipe out your level of depression.
  • Try to restrict the consumption of anything that is created for mass audience. In other words, cut out news, facebook etc other social media. Consume media that is intellectually stimulating which you consciously chose.
  • Depressed people are not sick, you are depressed because you are able to see the nonsense and the illusion. So don’t be fooled, there is nothing wrong with you.
  • The only real and permanent solution is spirituality. All the Vedas are basically dedicated to one thing – end of suffering.
  • Why Spirituality? The only way to really avoid all sadness is to realise your own divine nature where Astrology or core spirituality can help you to know yourself better.
  • Knowing the divine or practicing spirituality helps in altering thought patterns and thought structures in a natural manner.
  • As I already said, knowing the Divine is knowing yourself. Among all the ways of knowing yourself, knowledge of Jyotish can be the most interesting way of knowing the divine as well as self.
  • Astrology(Jyotish) itself is a Vedanga ( an adjunct to the Vedas), so it is inseparable from spirituality in the traditional context. Our horoscope reflects mainly our prarabhdha karma phala( which is scheduled to be expressed in this life), though it can also give other information. It does not say much about sanchita( accumulated karma) or about the ongoing karma.
  • Understanding the vibes of each planet in your life and their expectation towards you can make you win every odd situation of life. That’s why I advise everyone to learn the basics of Astrology for the sake of understanding your innerself.
  • Running behind Astrologer may not help you 100%; as skill like being able to predict the future is not that useful in getting rid of sorrow and depression. Most of the time Astrologer understands where you are stuck but making the other one aware of planet’s nitty-gritty is not possible. So its better to learn the amazing technique named Astrology from a reliable source.
  • In all these cases, spiritual practices will give peace of mind, reduce suffering etc after a certain point. It depends on how much the old mental habits have been removed and a new outlook or consciousness brought in its stead.
  • Many people think, Depression is ‘Vairagya’ or detachment; which is actually not. Depression is temporary and fleeting which can give ‘Shamshan Vairagya’. Desires are hard to suppress for life long.
  • Prayer is immensely powerful so with Satsang, spiritual practice, one can realise what ‘Light’ is. From there you can elevate yourself to ‘Vairagya’.
  • Thus, depression can be a boon for you, if the experience leads one towards the divine.
